Pompeii is a true spectacle showing you how relentless Vesuvius can be.
The ancient city of Pompeii is located near the modern city of Naples and was buried by the ash and debris of Mount Vesuvius when it erupted over two days starting the 24th of August, AD 79. Everything and everyone in the vicinity of the volcano was annihilated. The evidence that was left behind not only shows us how powerful and disruptive Vesuvius can be but also gives a portal in to the ancient past.
